Kudampuli is also known as Malabar Tamarind and its scientifical name is Garcinia Cambogia, which is one of the traditional spices available in Kerala.
It is used in most of the authentic dishes in Kerala for adding a sour taste. The shape of its fruit is small and rounded which is similar to a small pumpkin.
When the fruit ripens it turns into yellow color and its seed will be removed to dry in the sunlight. After that, it should be smoked for several days to turn its color into black.
